Cathedral Friends are women and men who have a special relationship with St. Louis Cathedral. Supportive of its goals, committed to its excellence, they have joined Most Rev. Archbishop Alfred C. Hughes and Rev. Monsignor Crosby W. Kern in their work to join friends and families together, and they have undertaken a personal responsibility for the Cathedral's future. They are "Friends of St. Louis Cathedral." Their friendship is vital to St. Louis Cathedral.
We need this support in order to bring families and friends together, to share friendships, to build a strong community spirit, and to preserve the beauty of the Cathedral.
Cathedral Friends' contributions aim to build a network of friends at St. Louis Cathedral.
We urge you to take advantage of the many activities offered. At the Cathedral, members are the guests of the Archbishop and the Priests. Cathedral Friends are encouraged to feel at home.
During the past two years, over $700,000.00 has been spent repairing the ceiling of the Cathedral, restoring all of the artwork on the ceiling, painting the entire interior, installing a new smoke and fire detection system and upgrading the sound system. But there are some important projects ahead, as funds become available.
All of these activities, our common prayers, our social and our fund-raising activities can all serve to bind us together in Christs life, his love and his service. Plan to join us as often as you can for these gatherings!
